An aged care software vendor has launched a program encouraging people working in aged care to nominate their hospitality and lifestyle colleagues for outstanding work during the pandemic.

SoupedUp Solutions, which sells aged care catering software, has launched the Hospitality and Lifestyle Aged Care Heroes program to give the sector an opportunity to say thanks to those who have gone above and beyond during COVID-19.

The program, which launched last week, targets people in working in catering, cleaning, laundry, and lifestyle services in aged care homes.

Successful nominees, who will be announced as heroes each week starting this week, will receive a gift and so will their facility.

SoupedUp Solutions CEO Belinda Adams said the program aimed to recognise hard working individuals.

“We are extremely proud to acknowledge and give back to those professionals who have shown dedication and commitment to improving the quality of resident care, not only during COVID-19, but every day,” Ms Adams said.

“Through HLAC Heroes, aged care staff and residents get an opportunity to spread the word and say thanks to those who have gone the extra mile,” she said.

According SoupedUp Solutions, a HLAC Hero is someone who has gone the extra mile for residents during the pandemic. This may include covering shifts, working additional hours, lobbying for additional resources or better quality materials and spending more time with residents.

Successful HLAC Heroes will be awarded with a $100 gift card and the aged care home will receive organic vitamin tea from Universal Village and cookies to share with their residents.
