Police in Stratford are asking the public for help identifying an alleged shoplifter after $1,400 of health and beauty items was reported stolen from Zehrs.
The theft happened on April 30 around 7:45 p.m. and was reported by staff at the Ontario Street supermarket two days later, police said.
The suspect, an unknown man described as slim with dark hair, short dark facial hair, and dark heavy eyebrows, scanned the items at a self-checkout but didn’t pay for them, investigators said. He then exited the store and drove away in a dark grey or black Honda sedan.
Police said the stolen items included Rogaine, electric shavers, teeth-whitening products and various creams.
An image of the suspect captured from surveillance footage was released by police Thursday.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Stratford Police at 519-271-4141 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS.
