Good Samaritan Free Clinic scheduleMARTINSBURG — Good Samaritan provides free health care to the uninsured and underinsured. The main clinic is at 601 S. Raleigh Street, Martinsburg. They do not take appointments and provide Family Practice care at all the clinics except Women’s Health evening.

Hours for the clinic are:

• Wednesdays at 5 p.m.

• first Tuesday of the Month at 5 p.m.

• Women’s Health Clinic on the Third Tuesday (April 20) at 5 p.m.

• Rescue Mission every Monday 10:30 a.m. to Noon.

Drive through Resource Fair and National Prescription Drug take back day setEASTERN PANHANDLE — Drive through Resource Fair coinciding with DEA National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held April 24 in two locations. Jefferson Berkeley Alliance on Substance Use Prevention and OnTrack an Anti-Drug Coalition will be handing out bags of community resources during specified times. The public will stay in their cars for social distancing safety.

Jefferson County’s will be held 9-11 a.m. at Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 102 Industrial Blvd., Kearneysville.

Berkeley County’s will be held 1-3 p.m. at Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, 510 S. Raleigh St., Martinsburg.

Take Back Day hours are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at all participating locations.

The public can drop off potentially dangerous prescription medications at collection sites which will adhere to local COVID-19 guidelines and regulations in order to maintain the safety of all participants and local law enforcement.

Prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths by disposing of leftover medications.

WVU Medicine offers safe walking programMARTINSBURG — WVU Medicine East offers Walk with Ease, an Arthritis Foundation certified program designed to share strategies for walking safely and comfortably. This structured, six-week walking program is designed to help people living with arthritis better manage their pain, but anyone can participate and benefit from the program. Walk With Ease is free and will be offered in two locations once a week for six weeks. All participants will also receive the Walk With Ease Guide Book.

The Jefferson County program will be held noon Mondays through May 3 at the Jefferson Medical Center pavilion in Ranson. The Berkeley County program will be held 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through May 5, at War Memorial Park in Martinsburg.

WVU Medicine hosts virtual Walk with a DocHARPERS FERRY — A virtual Walk with a Doc set for 9 a.m. every other Saturday. The Walk with a Doc program is designed for anyone looking to take steps toward a healthier lifestyle and encourages healthy physical activity in people of all ages and ability levels.

During the event, a WVU Medicine provider or a resident from the WVU Rural Family Medicine Residency Program leads an interactive Zoom meet-up. Participants are encouraged to download the Zoom app on their smartphone and join the meet-up for a 30 minute group walk. During these interactive walks, participants will have the opportunity to connect with other group members and participate in conversations with a medical provider.

To participate, join the WVU Medicine East Virtual Walk with a Doc Facebook group or follow the WVU Rural Family Medicine Residency Program Facebook page.
