Prince Harry may have relinquished his role as a senior British royal, but he’s picked up a new one – World’s Sexiest Royal.

Despite being relieved of his royal duties as he and wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex relocated to California with young son Archie, the pair remain popular with People magazine readers.

A poll indicates the Duke of Sussex beat out big brother William, as well as several other royal heartthrobs, including Prince Carl Phillip of Sweden, Prince Felix of Luxembourg and Prince Mateen of Brunei, for the title.

The win comes a year after Harry was also deemed People’s Sexiest Dad Alive.

Nile Rodgers credits the COVID-19 pandemic for the return of disco music.

Stars including Dua Lipa, Kylie Minogue, and Jessie Ware have revisited the sounds of the ’70s on their latest albums and, speaking to The Sun newspaper, Chic star Nile claimed the timing couldn’t be more appropriate.

Reflecting on how the disco genre brings people together, he said: “Maybe it’s because of the same reason why disco was important when it first surfaced.

“We were in such a tumultuous period and it was the one form of music which brought everyone together. It’s real escapist music.”

Now, the star is adding his own unique sound to the mix and he’s penned the theme to next year’s (21) Coming 2 America sequel, starring Eddie Murphy, having previously penned the theme for the original Coming to America soundtrack.

The resurgence in disco has even sparked a new version of Chic’s 1977 song Everybody Dance, featuring Nile, Cedric Gervais and Franklin, which is available to stream and download now.

Jason Momoa has raised the spirits of a young cancer-stricken Aquaman fan in Massachusetts with a sweet surprise video call.

The action star became a real life superhero by giving seven-year-old Danny Sheehan a ring over FaceTime on Wednesday as the superfan battles rare forms of brain and spinal fluid cancer.

“So I just wanted to say thank you to the community, friends and family on Instagram for reaching out and showing me this beautiful boy Danny who is going through chemo and has cancer,” Jason captioned a post with the clip. “I saw his video online that made me want to get in touch and FaceTime him and spend some time talking to him.”

Danny could not contain his excitement in the footage, gushing, “Hi Aquaman! I’m so excited,” before being gifted with an Aquaman toy.

Jason also urged fans to donate to Danny’s GoFundMe fundraising account before imploring Aquaman franchise bosses at Warner Brothers to gift the little boy an official trident.

“Hey @wbpictures let’s get Danny a Aquaman Trident!,” he shared.

Jason’s post has helped Danny’s family raise around $120,000 for his medical expenses, which exceeds their initial $75,000 goal.

Taylor Swift won her third consecutive artist of the year prize at the American Music Awards, but she missed the show for a good reason: She said she’s busy re-recording her songs’ masters after her catalogue was sold.

In a video that aired during Sunday’s awards show, the pop star said “the reason I’m not there tonight is I’m actually re-recording all of my old music in the studio where we originally recorded it. So it’s been amazing. And I can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Last year music manager Scooter Braun — who manages Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande — announced that his Ithaca Holdings company had acquired Big Machine Label Group, the home to Swift’s first six albums. This month Braun said he has sold the master rights to Swift’s first six albums to an investment company; Swift acknowledged the sale on social media and said she would not work with the new buyers because Braun was still involved.

Instead, she began re-recording her albums.

Swift beat out Bieber, Post Malone and Roddy Ricch to win the top award. She also won favourite music video and favourite pop/rock female artist.

The Weeknd lost artist of the year, but he still kicked off his all-star week as a big winner: Days before he’s expected to land multiple Grammy nominations, the pop star dominated the 2020 American Music Awards with multiple wins.

The 30-year-old won favourite soul/R&B male artist, favourite soul/R&B album for “After Hours” and favourite soul/R&B song for “Heartless” on Sunday, two days before the 2021 Grammy nominations are announced.

“The last time I received this award it was given to me by the late, great Prince,” he said after winning favourite soul/R&B album. “And, you know, he’s the reason I get to constantly challenge the genre of R&B and yeah, I’d like to dedicate this to him,” he said.

The Weeknd didn’t break character throughout the three-hour show with his gauze-wrapped face, which matched the vibe of his recent album and music videos where he appears blooded and bruised. He accepted his awards and performed with his face wrapped in gauze.

Kenny G joined the Weeknd for his performance, playing the sax in downtown Los Angeles as the Weeknd walked across a bridge singing “In Your Eyes.” He finished the performance singing “Save Your Tears.”

The Weeknd was one of several artists who appeared live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles for the fan-voted awards show. Others recently taped their performances because of the coronavirus pandemic, though host Taraji P. Henson — who appeared live from the venue — said the few audience members sitting in the mezzanine practiced social distancing, wore masks and were tested for the virus.

Henson joked that A-list celebrities were in the audience, including Beyoncé, though cardboard cut-out of the singer, Jay-Z and other stars appeared in seats.

But a good number of chart-toppers were in the building. Breakthrough singer-rapper Doja Cat performed and won multiple honours, including new artist of the year and favourite soul/R&B female artist. Grammy-winning country duo Dan + Shay beautifully performed “I Should Probably Go to Bed” and won collaboration of the year and best country song for “10,000 Hours,” both shared with Bieber. And Megan Thee Stallion — won favourite rap/hip-hop songs for “WAP” with Cardi B — performed “Body” from her recently released debut album “Good News.”

Bieber and Shawn Mendes kicked off the AMAs with a pre-taped performance of their new duet “Monster,” marking the first time they performed the song together. It began with a stripped-down Bieber singing his recent hit “Lonely,” with songwriter-producer Benny Blanco on piano, and “Holy,” where background dancers wearing masks joined him.

Mendes, strumming his guitar, then appeared for “Monster,” which featured the twentysomethings singing lyrics about about fame and growing up as celebrities who attracted massive public attention. Mendes later sang his song “Wonder” during the show, which aired on ABC.

Katy Perry, in her first performance since giving birth to her first child, gave a strong performance of the emotional and hopeful song “Only Love,” which featured a surprise guest appearance from Darius Rucker, who sang and played guitar. With flaming red lights glaring behind her, Billie Eilish sang her new song “Therefore I Am,” as her brother-songwriter-producer Finneas backed her on guitar. Jennifer Lopez and Maluma teamed up to perform their new songs “Pa’ Ti” and “Lonely” from the film “Marry Me,” which both of them star in, while Dua Lipa — who won favourite pop/rock song — levitated in the air during her performance of “Levitating.”

24kGoldn and Iann Dior — who currently have the country’s No. 1 song with the smash hit “Mood,” also performed. The multi-genre track is the rare song that has reached No. 1 on both the rap and rock charts.

Other performers included BTS, Bad Bunny, Lewis Capaldi, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, Bell Biv DeVoe and Nelly, who performed hits from his diamond-certified debut album “Country Grammar,” which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.

This year the AMAs, which typically awards one Latin honour, launched more categories in the genre. Becky G — who burst on the music scene in 2014 with the pop hit “Shower” but has recently had success singing in Spanish and launching hits on the Latin charts — won favourite Latin female artist.

She used her speech to honour immigrant families.

“I proudly wave both flags, Mexican and American. And like many, many children and grandchildren of immigrants, no matter where they’re from, we have learned from the ones before us what sacrifice and hard work looks like,” she said. “And I dedicate this award to all of our immigrant workers in this pandemic; the students and immigrant families. It’s because of my family, my abuelitos, that I stand here today.”

Nominees for the AMAs were based on streaming, album and digital sales, radio airplay and social activity, and reflect the time period of Sept. 27, 2019, through Sept. 24, 2020.

Incarcerated singer R. Kelly is “suffering” mentally amid the constant prison lockdowns due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The disgraced R&B veteran is awaiting trial on federal sex counts in Illinois, where he is behind bars, and in a separate case in New York, where a Brooklyn judge has just ruled his sex trafficking and racketeering case will begin in early April.

However, with Kelly repeatedly being denied bail, and having to spend much of his time locked up in isolation, his mental health has taken a big hit, according to his attorney Michael I. Leonard.

“In terms of his mental well-being, I think he’s suffering under these COVID conditions because they had an enormous outbreak (in prison) previously,” Leonard told Billboard.com. “It’s not a good environment to be in.”

But Kelly is hopeful he will be able to clear his name once he gets his day in court: “It’s been long and onerous, but on the other hand I think he is eager to get to trial,” Leonard added.

District Judge Ann Donnelly set the trial date in a hearing on Thursday, when she ruled jurors will be selected over the course of 10 days in mid-March.

She previously granted prosecutors’ request to keep the jury members anonymous and have them partially sequestered during the trial, throughout which they will be escorted in and out of court by U.S. Marshals to protect them from any potential outside influence, particularly after three of the singer’s associates were arrested for alleged witness tampering in August.

Leonard claims the additional precautions are “bizarre” and “inappropriate” for a case like Kelly’s, while arguing the extra protective measures prevent the singer and his legal team from properly preparing their defence.

The I Believe I Can Fly star has pleaded not guilty to all charges. He is accused of grooming underage girls attending his concerts for sexual abuse.

He has repeatedly failed in his attempts to be released on bail, and was denied a hearing regarding a new request in October, two months after suffering a jail cell beating by another prisoner.

Ed Sheeran has reportedly pledged more than $13,000 to the hospital which cared for his beloved late grandmother.

The singer, 29, gave officials at Aldeburgh Hospital League of Friends the money to put towards buying outdoor musical instruments to use in a sensory garden, reported The Sun newspaper.

According to the publication, the donation came from Ed’s charity The Framlingham Foundation Trust, with an annual report filed by the charity revealing: “A donation to Aldeburgh Hospital League of Friends ‘Sensory Garden Project’ was given to assist with the purchase of outdoor musical instruments for the rehabilitation and recuperation of patients.

“Such patients include day center clients, dementia patients and those with special needs and sensory disabilities in the community.”

The Framlingham Foundation Trust was set up by Ed with $664,452 to help groups and causes in Suffolk, England.

The Shape of You hitmaker spoke candidly about his late grandmother in an essay for the book Dear NHS: 100 Stories to Say Thank You, writing: “I was lucky enough not to be on tour during my grandmother’s final months, and because I lived locally I was able to visit her every few days.

“Me and my family became very close to the nurses who worked there and my mom is still in touch with them now. I see them from time to time when I’m in the area and it’s like meeting old friends.”

Despite being worth an estimated $213 million , Ed said he is grateful for Britain’s National Health Service (NHS) and has made use of it several times in the past few years.

“The NHS is unique. It can be taken for granted, or just accepted as the norm, but it’s not the norm,” he added. “Without sounding cheesy, it’s the backbone of our country and idolised by me and millions more.”

Elton John wants to put an end to his feud with Rod Stewart by giving him the “biggest hug”.

The pair have been at odds since Rod criticized Elton’s big farewell tour announcement in 2018 and the Sailing rocker revealed his former pal had snubbed an invitation for a family soccer game at his house earlier this year (20).

However, according to British newspaper The Sun, the Rocket Man singer, 73, is now ready to bury the hatchet and send his former pal a Christmas card – and that he’ll make up with his fellow rock veteran the next time they see each other.

“Rod and I have always had this kind of rivalry but it’s always been very friendly and funny and I love him to death,” he tells the publication. “If I saw him in the street I’d give him the biggest hug. There’s no point in carrying on vendettas. Life’s too short.”

The thawing of relations comes after Elton hit back at Rod, 75, in a new chapter of his memoir, ME – in which he addressed the allegation his mammoth farewell tour was just a money-making exercise.

“I certainly didn’t feel like I needed a lecture on the feral spirit of rock and roll from someone who’d spent most of the last decade crooning his way through the Great American Songbook and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas,” he wrote.

“What’s more, I thought he had a f**king cheek, complaining about me promoting a tour while he was sat on a TV show promoting his own tour. Perhaps it is inevitable that a relationship based on friendly rivalry and one-upmanship would sour eventually.”

Sharon Stone will support U.S. President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris’ transition to office.

The actress confirmed her new role during an appearance on U.S. TV show Extra, during which she mused over whether she would accept a public position if asked personally.

“I’ve been asked to be and do many things in the breadth of my career,” explained the Basic Instinct star. “So far, I have not been asked to be in a public position that I felt the bureaucracy wouldn’t tie my hands and make me do less that I’ve been able to do.

“But should I be asked to be in a public position that would allow me to do more I would do that,” she added.

Stone went on to share that she’s, “on the Biden transition team” and noted that, “should President Biden or Vice President Harris ask me to do something in infectious disease, I would accept a position and I would like to take my lifetime of global experience in infectious disease and really work more specifically now that I have this lifetime of understanding.

“But I think now what I really want is to be able to, as I get into my third act, I really want to be able to be more productive in being of service,” she stated.

Florida Georgia Line are heading to Hollywood to work on a feature-length country musical.

Bandmates Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley are joining forces with their frequent music video director TK McKamy to produce the new movie, which will feature original songs penned by the Cruise hitmakers, as well as covers of country music classics.

They have also been collaborating with Monarch Media studio officials Steve Barnett and Alan Powell to develop the storyline, although details have yet to be revealed.

According to Deadline, McKamy is considering taking charge of the film, which would mark his big screen directorial debut.

“We are so excited to bring a wholly original country musical to the big screen for the very first time,” Hubbard and Kelley share in a joint statement.

“In TK McKamy and the team at Monarch Media, we’ve found the perfect partners that will help us bring the emotion and storytelling of country music to the movies for the most passionate music fans in the world to enjoy.”

Powell adds, “There is a feeling that only a great country song can give you. It can make you smile bigger or cry harder than any other genre and frankly, our goal is to create a film that captures those feelings and puts them on screen in a way that’s never been done before.

“We believe Florida Georgia Line is the best partner to do that and are thrilled to work with them on this project.”

The movie news will be welcomed by fans after Hubbard shut down rumors suggesting the pair was heading for a split. He briefly unfollowed Kelley on social media after disagreeing with the Republican supporter’s politics.

“It wasn’t a big deal… We’re on great terms,” Hubbard told SiriusXM’s Exit 209 with Storme Warren show this week (ends20Nov20). “We’re feeling stronger than ever. We’re loving and supporting each other… and excited for the future.”

Ryan Reynolds has tapped the writers behind cult animated series Bob’s Burgers to write Deadpool 3.

The actor is poised to reprise his role as the snarky comic book antihero for a third outing, which will be penned by Emmy winners Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, according to Deadline.

The project remains in the early stages of development, but will be the first to potentially utilize characters from the wider Marvel Studios superhero franchises, following Disney bosses’ acquisition of 21st Century Fox, which was completed last year (19).

Reynolds first took on Deadpool for an appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine in 2009, and hit the big screen for a standalone film in 2016. Deadpool 2 followed in 2018.

Both movies were directed by David Leitch. It’s not yet known if he will return to take charge of the third installment, as a timeline for production has not been announced.
