NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) -The spirit of Christmas lit up many homes in North Platte neighborhoods. Several of the homes were nominated in the Christmas light decorating competition, the Beauty of the Holiday Lights. Compared to previous years, the competition had its largest number of nominations with forty-one nominees.

The competition was sponsored and organized by Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful and the North Platte Bulletin. The nominations for the Beauty of Lights competition shared their Christmas spirit with the community.

“My favorite part about doing this competition is getting out and seeing the spirit of the season,” said Executive Director of Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful Mona Anderson. “It really helps you get into the mood of Christmas. To see all the hard work and dedication that goes into some of these displays, these people do it for others.”

The winners of the 2020 Beauty of the Holiday Lights competition are:

Ward 1 – David and Emily Cooper

Ward 2 – Mike and Karen Pochop

Ward 3 – Cory Phillips

Ward 4 – Christopher Ortiz

County – Orville and Mary Kaschke

Prize money will be awarded to the top winners, and color photos of the homes are published in the North Platte Bulletin.
